Rocky and Jack

We heard about NIPRA from one of my husband’s co-workers at a point when we were ready to welcome a new canine companion into our family. After seven wonderful years with us, our beloved, adopted golden retriever had passed away from cancer and we missed him terribly.

We saw Jack on the website and applied to adopt him. We were so excited when we found out that we could take Jack home! We picked him up and he was more adorable than we could ever have imagined. It was love at first site with Jack and we were instantly pugged – so much so that we soon decided to adopt a second pug as a companion for Jack.

We contacted NIPRA again and learned that Rocky who was still in rescue had been Jack’s companion. They had been abandoned and wound up at a vet clinic in the Chicago area. NIPRA had room for both boys but unfortunately they didn’t have foster home space to keep them together. My husband and I discussed it and decided that we wanted to bring Rocky home too and reunite the boys. So a few weeks after adopting Jack, Rocky too became part of our family. The boys were so happy to be together again. It was heartwarming to see them cuddling as if they had never been apart.

We are trying to bring up our children to have love and compassion for animals and to understand their impact upon the world. Jack and Rocky are helping with that. They have been a wonderful addition to our family.  They love our girls and our girls love them! I could not imagine life with out them now! They have added so much to our home, the way they cuddle and their endless love and companionship. We are so lucky to be all together… They have such a special place in our hearts and we know we are special to them as well. We are blessed to have Jack and Rocky in our lives!
